Construction Charities That Build Homes and Communities

As we build our dream home and this website, it’s a priority of ours to give back to our community, both locally and at large, in meaningful ways.

One way we can do that is to support local and national construction charities that help give families a new start, or help charities and non-profits build the facilities they need.

Here’s a list of the construction charities we are currently following:

Building Homes For Heroes

As a response to the September 11 tragedy, Building Homes For Heroes was founded to provide homes to US veterans.

Building Up

Building Up is an Employment Social Enterprise training employer. They train people to build, renovate and retrofit Affordable Housing in Toronto, Ontario.

Construction for Change

Construction for Change is a non-profit construction management company that assists fellow nonprofits and NGOs with their building needs.

Habitat for Humanity

No list of construction charities would be complete without a mention of Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps people around the world build or improve a place they can call home.

The Haiti Earthship School Project

The Haiti Earthship School project is a collaboration between Greater Good International, a registered non-profit organization that has been working hard to bring education to Haitian children since 2010, and Earthship Biotecture, the architecture firm of Michael Reynolds, the creator of Earthship homes.

You can get updates on the progress of the school builds on the Earthship Biotecture Youtube channel.

The Home Builders Care Foundation

The Home Builders Care Foundation utilizes the skills and resources of building industry members on shelter-related construction for the homeless and others at-risk.

These are just a small selection of the many great organizations that help to provide housing and facilities to impoverished communities.

If you have a construction charity you think should be added to the list, please contact us through the contact page.
